Conceived in LA, born in Atlanta, and finished in Denver, ill-esha and KE On the Track's collaborative EP Autopilot is a slick, five-track tribute to the sounds and styles of three of the biggest hubs for electronic music at this time.
We've known about the sultry vocals and sensual beats of MC and producer Elysha Zaide for some time now, but we've only recently enjoyed the transition from hip-hop producer to electronic music figure by genre-straddler Kevin Erondu, who has snagged himself a Grammy nod and crafted beats for major pop luminaries.
Produced by both ill-esha and KE On the Track, each cut on Autopilot blends a myriad of contemporary production stylings with the clever twists of each veteran beatmaker. The title track sets the tone with a heavy R&B flair, while standouts like "Lightning Strikes" and "Stop Playin'" are easily fare for radio play with their accessibility to the world of mainstream sounds. "Tell Me More" features acrobatic contributions from Psalm One and Fluffy. This sound is only going to serve to bring both of talented producers to a wider audience. I don't mind be a stupid groupie for Esha & KE--I worked for this laminate.
