Our favorite masked Canadian trio is back, and blacker than ever. Black Tiger Sex Machine on January 13th reveals its Funeral March EP, a three-track monster from Kannibalen Records. The Montreal-based three-piece is a live electronic amalgam of crushing beats, bruising bass, and an irreverent take on contemporary production methods.
Today's premiere, "Hardcore," is further evidence 2015 is going to mark the massive, mainstream return of drum & bass. Sampling the original "amen break" (look it up, younguns), this throwback jam is the latest in the escalating BPM arms race, bringing faster tempos to the world of bass music. We're going to warp speed with this one. Look for this Quebecois act to make a US run this year, as well.
