It's a match made in audiophile heaven.
Plantrae's evocative viola paired with Dirtwire's dusty strings is intuitively a beautiful concept to any fan of either. The culmination of a session in Dirtwire's Oakland studio is a sprawling, symphonic journey across broken beats and haunting melodies.
This is the first collaboration between Zak Alston and the Bay Area trio featuring David Satori (Beats Antique), Evan Fraser (Stellamara), and Mark Reveley. Dirtwire's interests stray all over the map from the American southwest to western Africa to the middle east, and their propensity for exotic instrumentation is evident in their output. Plantrae brings punchier bass and beats to his productions, but shares the same penchant for far-flung sounds.
This single will be available on Plantrae's new label, Seaweed Sect, tomorrow (October 26th) on all major retailers.
