It's a meeting of the minds over at Wormhole Music Group. Three rising Bay Area producers have gone in on a split EP in the classic punk/DIY tradition. Womp Rat, Phers, and Concentrate have assembled a seven track EP, Split Vision, that features different permutations of these three talented bass acts.
Today I selected a cut from Phers and Concentrate. Fans of The Untz Festival will remember Ross McPherson from his Wormhole set this summer. We've featured his music, along with Concentrate's work on our feed before. Their collab, “4am Rain Dance,” is unique from the rest of the release, as it's a bit lighter and trappier, while still leaning into the the west coast bass aesthetic of the rest of the EP. It's a fun and funky tune heavy on the groove, but definitely knocks those cabinets in the right spots.
There are still some gems on this EP that I haven't even heard yet, so I'm excited to hear the rest of this 3-way EP next week. Split Vision is out September 27th.
