People are like "Anand, get off Gravitas' dick," and I'm like, "tell them to stop putting out the illest shit."
No, that's not true. I never use the word "illest" in mixed company.
Bottom line is, the Austin-based label is serving up another fresh EP from one of their (and our) favorite acts, Of The Trees. The beatsmith from the farthest, tippy-tippy top of the northeast (it's called Maine) is putting out Dream Atlas on February 9, and it's got a heaping helping of that hard-hitting hip-hop he's known for, and tons of collabos on the EP with acts like The Originalz and The Digital Connection.
Our favorite collab from the release is with Esseks, and this one goes a little harder than the rest of the EP. No bullshit, just bass. It's got a fun, quirky lil' kick to it, but it's also straighter down the middle than some of the other concoctions. Tyler Coombs and Sam Eckstein come hard down the pipe with this baby. And if you needed any extra incentive to pre-order this gem for $1, Perkulat0r and CloZee dropped a couple of remixes in there, as well. Brrrap.
