It was only late April when Alex Mantekas first graced our feeds with “Lunatic,” and already she's back for more. COVID-timing feels like it's slower than molasses, but that's still pretty soon for someone to return to our feeds, but there's so much momentum around NotLö that I can't think of anyone more deserving.
Mantekas recently collaborated with Sky Suite for the Street Ritual compilation Hard & Heavy, showed up on Wreckno's pride-infused ROYGBIV release, and now she's on the cusp of dropping her latest EP, Evolve, which is out this Friday, July 3.
To mark the occasion, we are premiering “From Above” today, which has that classic NotLö wub with some junglist effects. Mantekas has such an addictive sound, it's easy to see why she has become such a sought-after figure in the scene, and is making waves with collabs and originals all over the place. Fans will be thrilled learn she has collabs with Engix, Littykitter, and my hero Vibe Emissions on the EP.
You can watch her streaming her ass off tonight on the Wormhole weekly live stream, and those in Denver lucky enough to snap up tickets will be able to see her live in person (*gasp*) as part of the Patio Sessions at The Black Box when they open up for limited capacity events on Saturday, July 4 with A Hundred Drums, Grymetyme, and more.
