We've been watching MORiLLO steadily gain momentum since the inception of the "wordly bass" act not so long ago. West coast transplant Zach Morillo has been turning heads with his powerful sets at Lucidity and on The Do LaB stage at Coachella, and has a massive summer planned with dates at Lightning in a Bottle, Astral Harvest, and Shambhala Festival on the horizon.
In order to capitalize on this full head of sonic steam, MORiLLO plans to release a series of free downloads on the road to a new EP or album. We got to tackle the first in this series, "Anabasis Odyssey," which sounds like a Roman conquest of an Egyptian city played out in 300-esque drama with a trapstyle soundtrack. The powerful horn drops and thrilling drum work spears us right in the gut.
Digging on that neo-Classical trippy artwork? This is the second in a series of collaborations between Morillo and artist Karol Escobar, who perfectly captures the aesthetic of this larger-than-life anthem. Download this one for free, and get your friends on that MORiLLO tip.
