Coming off two legendary performances at Sweetwater 420 Fest in its hometown of Atlanta this past weekend, live electronic duo Modern Measure is excited to release its new EP, Behind The Light, which dropped today (April 22) on 1320 Records.
We premiered "Our Own Stars" last week, which kicks off the EP with a stunning array of sounds and styles. The hip-hop leanings of producers Kyle Holly and Charlie Thornton are evident on "Align," which features some glitch and trap flavors.
"Time Will Tell" runs through a gamut of rhythmic arrangements, hitting house, breaks, and drum and bass during its run. It will be exciting to see what live drummer Holly is able to do with that one on stage. The EP ends on a subtler note with "Only Fire," somehow blending a future bass aesthetic with a jamtronica foundation.
Holly and Thornton are at Zydeco in Birmingham, AL this Friday. They resume touring in early May in Alabama, once again, with an appearance in Auburn on May 8. The duo has some big festivals on the horizon, playing Summer Camp, SONIC BLOOM, and Backwoods Music Festival this season.
