Yet again, Michal Menert is back displaying his will to be an original, non-conforming artist in the ever-expanding world of electronic music.
For the debut of his newest project, dubbed Michal Menert & The Pretty Fantastics, the Godfather has joined forces with a few other artists like Willdabeast and Marcelo Moxy, to create a full, six-piece live band.
The first single, “Shanghai,” is available today with less than a week until the 10-track EP is released. Lead by soothing vocals from Menert, himself, the laid-back track stands as a blissful, optimistic reminder that the future is what you make of it.
Menert has stuck to some of the familiar foundations of his previous work, however, alongside the Pretty Fantastics, this sextet has managed to craft an entirely new sound. Every instrument “rides the pocket” and has been mastered extremely well, giving the softer, indie-rock vibes authenticity.
“Shanghai” is just a tease of the forthcoming EP, which is sure to have moods and emotions of every kind. If anything, the new single will leave you wondering, as it did us—what can he possibly come up with next?
