In case you missed it, the glistening world of soul and funk has been graced with the debut single from collaborators Break Science and Manic Focus. The new side project Manic Science (makes sense) is a mesmerizing cohesion of two talented production teams known for their unique spin on the rising movement of electro-soul, glitch-hop, and dubstep. The track is called “You Gotta Move” and at the risk of being Mr. or Mrs. BuzzKill you may have to ditch your standard big room shuffle for a full-blown jazz café swing.
Break Science and Manic Focus each bring their particulars to the table; hip-hop breaks, glitch-hop, maybe even a hint of eggs and cinnamon. Together they converge into the self-described “Spacey-Bass baby” that is the Manic Science sound. Without much of a doubt the tag team has delivered just what you would expect based on the individual work of both parties.
The Manic Science Soundcloud page has just made it up and features the new single for your listening delights. Find Break Science and Manic Focus on their respective social media outlets for even more tasty tracks to wash that nasty taste of “All About That Bass” off your self-respecting tongue.
