Launching her new project, electro-soul and hip-hop producer Maddy O'Neal gifts fans her innovative remix of a 90's classic. The Denver-based artist is sitting on an album's worth of material, but has chosen to kick things off with a Sublime tune near and dear to the hearts of many millennials.
Taking the usually sunny vocals and acoustic stylings of the late great Bradley Nowell and opening her reworking with a haunting, glitched-out intro, O'Neal immediately grabbed our attention before letting those classic chords kick. This "What I Got" remix shows us exactly what Maddy's got, which is an ear for flippin' tunes, and the production chops to give us the soulful hip-hop we demand.
Maddy already has some dates on the calendar, including a stop at the Aggie Theater in Fort Collins, CO on April 30, and a stacked lineup at Cervantes in Denver, CO on May 6 featuring The Gaslamp Killer, Nosaj Thing, Russ Liquid, Marvel Years, and more.
