Ben Parker, the turntablist feather in SLUG WIFE's cap, returns to the label next week with Monochrome, a blistering five-track EP that runs roughshod over the left-field bass terrain.

Parker, who is one-third of K.L.O. with Kursa and Osmetic, cut his teeth on cutting UK dance music tunes and that reverence for his forbears is no more evident than on the opening tune “Rage-ga,” which features a throwback 2-step garage intro that eventually pummels right into a nasty bass hook. I mean this thing collides like a lorry and a Peugeot going 50km/hr on the M25. Sorry, my Anglophilia only takes me so far.
