Looks like the next big name in future bass comes from Gothenburg, Sweden in the form of Kasbo. This up-and-comer is only 19, and one of the newest members of electronic music sensation ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective. Kasbo seems to be maintaining a very rapid production pace coming out with a few tracks a month for around two years now, and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
His latest offering is "World Away." This is a complex song with an intricate melody that really showcases Kasbo’s evolution as a producer. This track offers a simple progression to begin with until being overtaken by distorted vocal samples that skip and echo all over to create a beat of syllables. Another build-up ensues before synth work grabs your ear and it becomes very apparent why the melodic-synth kings themselves chose to sign this guy to their label.
With his youth, production rate, and connections, the sky is the limit for this talented Swede. Having just released his first multi-track EP, Umbrella Club, a couple weeks ago in addition to this massive single, look for Kasbo to making a lot more noise stateside here pretty soon.
