Johnathan Thomas has been hard at work in the studio developing his production chops to take his sound to the next level. Already a master of juke, footwork, and drum & bass, the Chicago-based producer is trying to hone his expertise in theory and cutting-edge techniques to take his catalog to the next level, and expand out his range.
To that end, his latest track, “Full Circle,” is a testament to his relentless pursuit of what's next. Taking a driving, halftime feel and laying it over a juke beat, this ominous, bassy production moves the feet and bangs your head. Can't help but feel all sorts of grimy with the multiple angles of sound and intensity. It's a trip. Hard to say where Thomas' sound is going to go from here, because it's already out of this world.
