ill-esha has been a fixture in the electronic music scene. From her early days as a drum 'n' bass DJ, through her work as an MC and vocalist, and through today's glitch-hop mastery, ill-esha has been all about exploration and community.
On today's episode, ill-esha discusses latest album, the freedom that she has to produce downtempo, dubstep, and glitch, and her love-hate relationship with vocals. We also get into her influences, and what she was trying to do with her latest effort. There's also some talk of how much she enjoys seeing brostep in the bright, sunshine... not much.
This episode contains tracks from R/D, Freddy Todd, and Atari Teenage Riot, in homage to ill-esha's love of industrial and punk music. Her brand new album, Reverie, is out now on Muti Music. She also discusses her new home in San Francisco, and going home to Vancouver.
