The two kings of the Weird Bass scene, G Jones and Bleep Bloop, have teamed on this monstrously brutal Mind EP, dropping courtesy of DJ Shadow's Liquid Amber label. It's like the Navy Seals and the Green Berets joining forces on a mission to destroy all enemies. Winding beats through streams of consciousness and epiphanies. This record is hard to stop listening to. They find a way to be simultaneously ethereal but gargantuan.
These sacred grounds are not touched by many; some try, others fail. This EP succeeds on all fronts, satisfying your abnormal urge for the bizarre while quenching your need for bass. It's elusive, strange, substantial and endearing. And don't even get me started on that Lunice remix. This shit is on the rise in the best way possible. I can't wait to see what the future holds for weird bass.
