Favorite ThisExample & Dillon Francis - Someone To Die For

Published: November 20, 2012

The maestro of moombah, Dillon Francis, is showing us a completely new angle to his impeccable production arsenal with his latest collab with English vocalist Example. Known for throwing down mega dance hits, Francis eases back on the throttle with indie-lounge hit "Someone to Die For." Sounding like the lovechild of Tears for Fears and Holy Ghost!, this laid-back and somewhat mournful track shows the softer side of the young producer, while really showcasing the vocal gymnastics of which Example is capable. Rapping or belting, Example's vox are tight and trained. The breakdown features a rapped verse over what leans towards Dillon's siren sound, but then gets right back into the relaxed groove. Released yesterday as part of the new Example album, Evolution of Man, the production by Francis hints that the spry young producer can definitely get deep.
