One of our favorite slimepunk producers is setting himself up for a breakout year in 2018. This week Ethan Glass teased his REAL HEAVY EP, which is slated for a spring release, and sets him up for a string of hype shows to kick off the year with some ferocity.
“COMBO BREAKER” is the first taste of the new EP, which gives us a sense of the sonic direction Glass is taking. Frenetic percussion is a hallmark of the Ethan Glass sound, and the frenzied, rattling beats lead into a couple of demented drops fit for his irreverent and experimental aesthetic. These types of tunes have made him a favorite of Saturate Records, and found his way into Space Jesus' sets.
This Saturday, he's a guest of The Untz as he plays direct support for The Untz Festival alum DIGITAL ETHOS at Club R2 in Charlottesville, Virginia. Just Add Water, be.IN, OmniGalactic, SunRizen, and Chamelyon (who celebrates the release of his EP, Fissure) also find spots on the lineup. Burgeoning bass promoters The Bassment join us on this adventurous lineup.
Then in February, Ethan Glass hits the road with Bleep Bloop. Glass joins Aaron Triggs in Orlando, Tallahassee, and Gainesville for a Florida run Feburary 7th through the 9th. Much more music is on the way, and we're placing our bets that Ethan Glass becomes a household name by the end of the year.
