A chance encounter with the bass explosions of Rusko, Benga, and Skream is all it took
for Chicago's Carlo Pasquesi to give electronic music another shot. A funk and blues
guitarist growing up in the Second City, Pasquesi didn't care much for the bubblegum
techno he had heard. But the minute he caught the subsonic carnage of dubstep, he was
hooked.
Reborn as LoBounce, Pasquesi has created his own style of low end tunes he calls "drippy
bass." His debut full-length concept album about his dreamy land of bass, Bouncetown, is
out now. For the record, it was The Untz's senior contributor Natty Morrison who made
podcast host and producer Anand Harsh miss the LoBounce set before NiT GriT at the
Kinetic Playground last weekend.
Next week on the Untz Podcast, The Polish Ambassador will make an appearance. Always
clad in a neon ski suit from the 80's, David Sugalski AKA Ample Mammal AKA TPA gets the
party started with a mix of house, electro, glitch, dub, and anything he can get his
hands on. Recently, the Polish Ambassador joined the ranks of 1320 Records.
