As DJ Stump, Cole Brokamp has been dropping dubstep and hip-hop hooks into his band's sound for a little over a year and a half. Stump is a hands-on DJ, well-versed in vinyl as well as the trademark production software of his contemporaries.
After losing their creative force, the Cincinnati jam band Skeetones reinvented themselves as a livetronica force, blending genres on the fly like a digital jazz combo. Stump helms the electronic reins, dropping in keyboard licks when necessary, or stepping back in the cut with ambient flavor. Skeetones will be supporting fellow Ohioans The Werks and Papadosio for a New Year's Eve extravaganza at the Madison Theater in Covington, KY.
Up-and-coming Swedish house wunderkind Avicii is featured on next week's The Untz Podcast. He has had a worldwide hit with the club rager "Bromance," and has worked with the biggest and brightest stars in international dance music like Axwell, Robyn, and Tiësto.
