As a writer here at The Untz, remix EPs can sometimes be difficult to digest. If the remixers are not carefully picked according to their diverse styles, it can come off as repetitive and lazy. A good one should feature artists from across the spectrum of EDM to allow the track to be individually transformed into a whole other monster. A perfect example would be Dirtyphonics’ latest remixes for their single “No Stopping Us” feat. Foreign Beggars. The original track is a super dirty, bass-heavy track that fits perfectly with the Beggars’ aggressive rapid fire flow. Throw in some dance-hall-style piano in the intro for good measure, and you have great track.
The rest of the EP features remixes from Steve Aoki, Etc!Etc!, Smooth, and Marion Corrales. Each artists takes the song in a completely different direction. The most notable remixes come from Aoki and Corrales. Aoki’s signature electro house is a perfect complement to the dirty bass of Dirtyphonics. Marion Corrales turns the track into an elegant piano ballad as she sings the Beggar’s verses. This remix has the potential to go viral. Etc! Etc! also creates a banger as he throws in the drum & bass fire with a trap drop that will take you completely off guard. Even if you shy away from massive remix EPs, you should give this one a shot. Take it from us, this one is different. It's dirty.
