Following a recent appearance on Canadian YouTube cult cooking show Epic Meal Time—his “Cheesy Grilled Cheese Tower” episode garnered over two and a half million views since posting May 3 (http://tinyurl.com/433rtrt)—electronic music producer and performer deadmau5 is ramping up with: news of a unique North American tour for the second half of 2011 showcasing a brand new live production; a special remix package of “Raise Your Weapon”; deadmau5 – LIVE AT EARLS COURT, a live DVD; a new deadmau5 Touch Mix App; and a “Design THE NEXT deadmau5 HEAD” competition.
Launching August 5 at Lollapalooza in Chicago, where he is an official 20th Anniversary festival headliner along with Eminem, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Muse and My Morning Jacket, the tour will take deadmau5 deep into the fall to major amphitheaters and venues throughout the U.S. and Canada, including shows at Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the Phoenix Convention Center, Houston’s Verizon Wireless Theatre and many more. He’ll also appear at San Francisco’s Outside Lands Sunday, August 14. In addition, the tour will also have deadmau5 returning to Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium and New York’s Roseland Ballroom. Tickets for all shows are available now.
Prior to the tour’s launch, Ultra Music—deadmau5’s North American label—will release on July 5 deadmau5 LIVE AT EARLS COURT, a live DVD that captures deadmau5’s 2010 performance as the first electronic artist ever to sell out London’s historic 19,000-capacity Earls Court. On May 23, Ultra Music will make available special remix packages for iTunes and Beatport of “Raise Your Weapon,” from deadmau5’ 2010 release 4x4=12. The iTunes version will feature the original song, a remix and extended remix by French producer Madeon, remixes by Dutch trio Noisia and German producer Stimming, along with a radio edit. The Beatport package will also feature the original song, the Madeon extended remix, Noisia and Stimming’s remixes as well as Stimming’s dub.
Additionally, deadmau5 will debut the new deadmau5 Touch Mix App for the iPod Touch and iPad the same day via www.facebook.com/deadmau5. The deadmau5 Touch Mix App will allow fans to remix exclusive deadmau5 music and compete to win a custom deadmau5 iPad. In support of the upcoming tour and releases, deadmau5 is also launching on May 27 "Design The Next deadmau5 Head" competition. The campaign will allow deadmau5 fans to submit their original mau5head designs in order to compete for exclusive prizes. Further details will be announced at a later time.
