Dakota Zasada has been been in our crosshairs for a few years now. The Wisconsin native's Cntrlla project has always been about cutting-edge bass music, and now he's back with a twisted new tune.
Is he trying to resurrect the race war Charles Manson was attempting to incite by having his acolytes scrawl “Helter Skelter” on the walls of Roman Polanski's rental home in Sharon Tate's blood? Ummm... probably note. But his tune “Skelter” certainly evokes those dark and frenzied feelings.
Warping a wild neuro bass around some solidly programmed percussion, Zasada gets technical in and amidst the darkness. There's a method to the madness, as his productions are always precisely crafted though there's a lot of atmospheric effects and layers jockeying for position.
Cntrlla has been quietly prolific from his Green Bay hideout, but this single heralds more activity coming from his outpost.
