As part of his bi-weekly Midways series, in which he gives out a free track every other Wednesday, Nevada's Big Chocolate is giving fans a lil' sneaky peaky at this latest installment via The Untz (and we're ever so thankful).
Cameron Argon has been the consummate independent artist, building up a fan base through healthy heaters and staying true to his (very weird) self with off-kilter bass hits that crush speakers in their own way. Pegging down his sound is damn near impossible, but let's just say it blends future bass, dub, and plenty of reverb with knee-snappin' drops that absolutely slay dance floors. His RIP Small Face EP with DJ Two Stacks is a monster release, and most recently he reworked "Cloud Knock" for Liquid Stranger's nascent Wakaan label.
Today, we get to break open "I Am The Sun," a pitch-shifted, delay-soaked, R&B delight that sounds like Maxwell sipped on some sizzurp. It's a love song for the year 2086. Chopped and screwed melodies hurtle across lightly plucked guitars and Latin percussion. It's a stew of sonic goodness. Drink this one up for free, and stay on top of these Midways releases. They are the truth.
