We've got a fresh new download from our brother in the Plains. Lincoln, Nebraska's Bentone, 1/2 of BASSthoven, has been delving into some seriously warped territory. His latest project, "Home Bass," his him experimenting in the 8-bit realm with a curiously familiar palette. Imagine instead of a mushroom, your favorite overalled plumber ate mescaline in one of those haunted house levels of Super Mario Bros. These bit-crushed beats bounce from rhythm to rhythm across this complex soundscape. Benton Alexander is pushing the edges of glitch-hop to their glitchiest, and in turn producing some really remarkable stuff.
