Up-and-coming producer Au5 joined forces with Canadian singer/songwriter/producer Q’ALIA for a new EP to wrap your up summer song search. Technical bass paired with beautiful soundscapes create a warm and intriguing vibe.
Delicate, melodic piano notes welcome you to “Any Longer.” The haunting vocals performed by Q’ALIA lament about a lost love and escaping the pain of losing a loved one. The notes string together for a buildup which releases into the full blown bass of the track. Beats, techno pulses, and touches of dubstep weave in and out of this heartfelt dance gem. Austin Collins' time on the road with Liquid Stranger this past spring has given his music a new take on heavy. You can see it on display at the end of the month at Rawkus in Colorado Springs.
Au5 switches things up to an energetic and bouncy number with “Hit Rewind.” In this one, Q’ALIA is describing the well-known feeling of finding nourishment in losing yourself to the music and how it can make you feel better despite what you're dealing with in your life. Flavorful synth and intricate drum beats bring a balanced flow, while funky, housey techno coalesces with a beautiful voice in this well-rounded jam.
