ANNuNAKii - No Tomorrow

How subtle it is, the juxtaposition of light and dark on the haunting new release from ANNuNAKii. Chiaroscuro melds the two polarized worlds with the deft touch of a skilled craftsman. "No Tomorrow" possesses so much of that "dramatic cosmic crunk" for which the LA-based producer has become known. An "artists' artist" in his glitch-hop field, ANNuNAKii is making a play for a greater status on the wings of blindingly complex productions that slam brazen hip-hop beats into the synth equivalent of a chorale. The real charm of Chiaroscuro is that it doesn't scream "I'm smarter than you!"--though it might just be. It's still a fun album for kickin' it.
