Alejo - You EP [EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE]

What's dope? Cincinnati's burgeoning electronic/psychedelic scene is on fire, with big things coming out of the midwest crew surrounding the Essential Promo team. Bringing huge acts from around the nation, the city's own artists, like young Alejo, are starting to get some action and exposing a whole new crowd to the sounds of Cincy.
Alejo's You EP gives us two different takes on electro soul, pulling samples from Aretha Franklin's "Wonderful." Both bring the bass, but have the melodic sensibility to keep it together. Solid drums weave in and out of Aretha's powerful vox.
Alejo is joining forces with fellow Cincy stalwart, Spankalicious, along with Bass Coma to launch ThazDope Records on 4/20. A big tour is set to follow, so keep your eyes on Ohio. That's what's dope.
