Joshua Penman's Akara project rarely gets its live incarnations due to the sheer difficulty of gathering cellos, violas, accordions, keyboards, various percussive instruments and vocalists all in the same location. But when it comes together, it's a sight and sound to behold. Lucky for us, Akara releases The World Beyond August 5th on Kalya Scintilla's Merkaba Music label.
