Ableminds out of Denver effortlessly combine elements of a live band with edgy production to craft a compelling sonic signature of danceable beats and glitchy soundcscapes. The duo, Jordan Linit & Charles Parker Mertens, continue to push the boundaries of what bass music should sound like, while simultaneously taking the idea of an “Electronic Band” to uncharted territories with live drummer George Horn.
They will be releasing their first full-length album
Faces together August 4th, but today we have an exclusive track from these fellows that is sure to move the mind and body of anyone tuned in. “New Kicks” opens up with immersive live instruments that quickly sets the pace for this tune, while jazzy synth lines weave in and out to adequately hold it all together. Each section of the track features its own unique bounce, and provides listeners with the feeling of receiving a fresh new pair of shoes.
Ableminds will be headlining the
Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom on August 4th and celebrating the release of
Faces, so be sure to stop by if you are in the Denver area.
