Oliver Edgecombe is not your typical producer. Beginning at the ripe old age of 14, Edge dove headlong into production, crafting dirty drum 'n' bass on his home PC. The damn thing kept crashing, though. Absolutely heartbreaking, considering the bombastic beats that he was making. Shutting up his crap computer in a dark, forgotten place may have been the best thing for him, but six years later, Olly rediscovered some of his old tunes and remembered how much fun booming bass can be.
Enter (or re-enter) Cottonmouth, a renewed and reinvigorated Oliver Edgecombe. With intense drops and wobbles, the new Cottonmouth sound packs a punch. With just a couple of years back on the horse, Permanent Damage gave the Bristol native a shot with "Tubular Bass." The buzzing cut combines hooky synth work with fierce low end action. Rumbling through a tension building drop, the tune never lets its foot off the gas. Imagine what will happen when we get a few more years out of the Edge...
