Escape the grip of the city madness at Expansion, a21+ monthly excursion exploring the advancement of music and art underneath the stars. Held on the beautiful grounds of Hummingbird Ranch, Expansion features two areas of sound, live art, food, drinks, fire lounges and surprise performances. On Friday, August 19 you will find a lineup that features DJ Craze, Kastle, Flinch and other artists on the cutting edge of modern bass music.

 

With undeniable chops on the wax and a gang of scratch battle trophies to prove it, Miami's DJ Craze is quite possibly the world's most talented turntablist. Recently Craze has plunged into the vast realm of modern bass music, where he continues to find success as a producer and performer. Constantly reinventing himself through new techniques and an expansive musical vocabulary, DJ Craze has reached a level of respect both with hip hop and dubstep audiences alike that most artists can only dream of.

 

Kastle fuses his long time long of hip hop and R&B with a fresh approach on modern bass music to create a soulful and organic style of beats. From more languid and dubby tracks to amped-up dance floor anthems, Kastle delivers a diverse slew of crispy sounds. Joining them is local dubstep upstart Flinch from the Smog crew as well as Camo UFOs, the early 90’s underground project of Thee Mike B and Nate Day. In the second area you will find more uptempo beats from Thee Mike B plus Expansion residents Josh One, Lenny V and Kid Chameleon.

 

Throughout the stunning grounds you will also find visuals, live painting and art installations John Park, Hans Haveron, Mimi Yoon, Steven V. Williams, Codak and Evan Mendelson, plus surprise performances from special guest artists.
