Wu WeiThere's nothing quite like the joy of watching a young artist grow, develop, and really come into their own. That's been our experience with Wu Wei, who happens to be performing at The Untz Festival making its way back to Mariposa, California from June 2-4.

The Humboldt-based talent is performing on the ShadowTrix Music stage, the label upon which he just contributed a new original for their sprawling compilation, but we've known about the young producer originally from Los Angeles for a while now. We've watched him cut his teeth on glitch and downtempo and move into new and interesting realms with his productions.

Wu Wei returns to one of our all-time favorite labels, Muti Music, for his latest EP, Written In Ash, which sees the prodigious producer covering even more ground than normal. Today's premiere, lead-off track “Internal Menace” starts off in classic territory—gentle, pensive downtempo glitchiness, and then escalates into all out chaos with some strong sub play. The lead track is a real testament to both how heavy and how delicate the rest of the EP is.

We are beyond stoked to be sharing this tune with our fans, and also stoked to see this track get played out live this summer in northern California at our festival. It's been a long time coming...
