Favorite This[VIDEO] Papadosio's 'Taking Turns' sounds like Yes. F*ck yeah.

With each Tuesday and Thursday morning comes a jolt of excitement, as we remember the new Papadosio video will be sitting in our inbox. Following the winding "New Love" and acoustic-driven "The Elephant I Presume," today's offering has that triumphant operatic build we've come to love and expect from the five-piece.

Coming in halfway between Yes and Local Band Does OK-era Umphrey's, "Taking Turns" is meticulously crafted. Every note is in its place. There's no noodling or tomfoolery, just straight-to-the-point tight arrangement. I'm boggled by these flawless renditions, shot in HD by Jeremy Sewell, no less, which must take hours and hours to perfect, and even longer in the larval stages to even get to that point.

And I know the answer is hard touring, which tightens the band even further. Leading up to the much anticipated Red Rocks performance September 19th with Lotus and Orchard Lounge, and beyond into the Imaginal Cells tour, the band of Anthony Thogmartin, brothers Billy and Sam Brouse, bassist Rob McConnell, and drummer Mike Healy continue to gel into the unstoppable force they pretty much already are.

Check back in Thursday for the next installment in Night & Day.
