Will Mills and Zach Morillo have been impressing us for a long, long time. The boys of Sounduo have engineered a combination of live dub and drums that works. And then the Miami pair, not content to rest on their laurels, crafted a jungle, juke, and drum & bass sound all their own, as well. The culmination of years of fine-tuning this sound is their brand new EP, Fuzzy Logic. Never before has the twosome had not only a vast array of sounds, but there is a cohesive thread that ties them all together.
Futuristic opener "Move Your Soul" blends elements of breakbeat and techno, while still sounding utterly modern and contemporary. The title track is an exercise in the kind of deep dub that today's practitioners have lost. The highlight of the album, "Dab City," possesses that spacey step that attracted a lot of people to bass in the first place. Mellow, obsessively groovy, and above all: fun. Grab this album for free, it'll immediately find itself on repeat.
