We turned fans onto Sidewalk Boy just over a year ago. Our partners at Wormhole Music Group let us premiere the lead single “Raw” and our fans just flipped for its undeniable ruggedness and innovation, front to back.
Now Wormhole is bringing Sidewalk Boy back for another round with the GODCORE EP, which is just as fearsome (maybe even moreso). The Bay Area producer doubles down on the sound design path and unleashes some more gnashing soundscapes with brutal effects and punishing bass shrapnel that will absolutely decimate your speakers.
Today we have the privilege of premiering the opener, “STEELE,” which drives spikes of molten metal straight into our veins with that granular design that gets our motor running. Timestretched samples crackle on the edges of robotic mysticism, and the groove shudders under the weight of its own cacophony. This is some pretty heady stuff.
Being a Bay Area favorite of the Wormhole crew, I wouldn't be surprised if Sidewalk Boy is shuffled into the upcoming calendar here by spring. GODCORE is out September 26.
