Following two blowout BassLights performances with Bassnectar at the end of December in Hampton, VA, Derek Vincent Smith chose to celebrate the New Year in New York City. East coast Pretty Lights fans were thrilled to learn they'd ring in 2013 at the relatively intimate Roseland Ballroom. The incredible stage design and Greg Ellis' heart-stopping light show provide the perfect backdrop for this nostalgic recap video of the end of 2012.
Colorado PL fans will recognize "The Day Is Gone" from this past weekend's SnowBall performance up in the mountains. The forthcoming Pretty Lights album, which boasts full, live arrangements orchestrated and arranged carefully by Smith and a bevy of funk, soul, and jazz performers, only gains momentum and anticipation with each passing day and little nugget of info that leaks from the PL camp.
