The year is 2050 and the bi-continental duo niceFingers has just released its four track EP Imaginative…you’re not dreaming and it’s definitely still 2013, but this soulful, funky, futuristic release makes us feel like we should be wearing space suits and floating around in zero gravity. Nick Waterhouse and Dave Schneider say that they are “passionate about bringing lovable, amazing, uplifting, bumpin’ and straight dirty music to your eardrums,” and that is exactly what they do with Imaginative.

The opening track “Starlights” is a slowed-down glitchy treat featuring sexy, smooth vocals by Jillian Ann and steel drums that give the song a very out-of-this-galaxy feel. “Subaqua” and “Indigenous” offer upbeat, melodic grooves full of the round, spacey sounds found throughout this release. Saving the best for last, “Full Moon Party” is the gem of this release. The track opens with funkified guitar riffs backed by some low-end bass, and follows with the organic glitch sound true to the EP and its producers.

On the whole, Imaginative gets an enthusiastic vote of confidence from The Untz. Be sure to give it a listen and get your groove on to an EP that is truly out of this world.
