Favorite ThisNatty's Picks of the Week - Volume 25

Published: July 7, 2011

By: Natty Morrison

Well, I’ve officially reached my 25th installment of my weekly picks. This can mean only one thing: I get a Rolex now. You can go ahead and email it to me. Thanks.

1. “The Morning” - ill-esha

On this lush lovestep tune, Simplify Recording artist ill esha finds a way to toe the line between pain sexuality and pain, between moaning and bemoaning. The song creeps along effortlessly, but be careful, it might just creep into your subconscious when you’re not looking.

2. “BANGBANG” - Devin Martin

A severely heavy duty dubstep/electro house track, this cut from Devin Martin feels like getting shot by the most wonderful bullet of your life. Oh the searing kiss of hot lead, how I’ve missed you! I mean, I think I’m dying.

3. “Sleep In Heaven” - Facing Jinx

Incredible both in execution and composition, I present to you two versions of the same track by Alex James, aka Facing Jinx. The first is his drum and bass interpretation of his own song, the second is a subtle dubstep version. For me, it’s almost impossible to decide which I like more. So instead, I’ve just been playing them at the same time. It’s kinda weird. But then again I’m kinda weird, too.

4. “Redeemer (Preview)” - Wreckless

Plucked from his new EP of the same name, this loping DnB track sounds like a monster emerging from murky waters and taking its first steps onto dry land. Then, in an unsurprising turn, he crushes everyone with its huge, monster feet.

5. “Help Mochipet Name this Track and win a free Android Godzilla Porn Vinyl” - Mochipet

A fairly self explanatory name, Mochipet is reaching out to his fans to help him name this raved out cut. Shoot him a message on Facebook or comment directly on this track. My suggestion: “Stick It In My Onslaught.”
