The annual Mysteryland festival concluded last month at the end of August. Fans in the Netherlands certainly welcomed one of the longest running electronic festivals with open arms, but will electronic fans in America flock to ID&T's prized possession, coming next year to the Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center, the site of the original Woodstock festival in 1969. Three days of peace, music, and love will give way to... well, hopefully three days of peace, music, and love, but the growing electronic dance scene has been marred by allegedly drug-related deaths of two of its fans at this past weekend's Electric Zoo a couple of hours south in New York City.

We await to see the fallout from the latest tragedies to befall the burgeoning EDM scene. What we do know is that skeptics of the scene and its youth-led fervor might see this latest encroachment on a sacred rock 'n' roll site as sacrilege. Regardless of what the skeptics say, the 20,000 capacity event, which will undoubtedly host the biggest names in house and trance, will reach capacity in its first year, and commercial success will always herald a return visit. In the meantime, enjoy the party while it's in the Netherlands, because like it or not it's coming across the pond.
