Seminal post-rock and electro-jam outfit Lotus announced today it will be releasing Gilded Age on July 22, a digital and vinyl album with six original tracks and four remixes in total. Focusing on a tightly-knit but warm, raw feel, the band took to Miner Street Studios in Philadelphia, PA to record live to analog tape.

Selecting its favorite downtempo acts to re-imagine the originals, the five-piece tapped fellow Philadelphian KiloWatts to take a hack at "Out of Focus," calling on fellow sonic explorer Skytree to tackle "Let Me In." Guitar wizard Derek VanScoten, a.k.a. D.V.S*, axes his own way through "The Oaks."

Lotus has a pared down summer scheduled, taking on the Talking Heads at Gathering of the Vibes in early August, swinging through Baltimore a week later for Moonrise, and then there's the Summerdance double dip at Nelson Ledges in northeast Ohio late in the month before the band's big Red Rocks performance on September 19th with Papadosio and Orchard Lounge.
