It takes less time to figure out the high level of talent SirensCeol possesses, than it takes to learn to say his stage-name (pronounced “sirens soul”). Stephen Burke, a 20-year-old Californian, has been conquering new heights, musically. Starting as a pianist at age 11, he has now evolved into one of the top fresh, young faces in the industry. His new mix of "Exit Wounds," originated by a major influence on his own work, James Egbert, is a supreme demonstration of his versatility. You can hear his melodic flow slowly merge with that classic dub drop.
The vocals couldn’t be any crisper. His piano portions of the song seamlessly mesh with the synth sounds that give off that dubstep vibe. When listening to his tracks, it becomes difficult to pinpoint the genre. He blends the likes of dubstep, drum-and-bass, and much more. His large range and complexity of tracks has been credited to Stephen’s musical education background. Currently attending UC Berkeley, Burke has immersed his mind, body, and soul into this sound he is creating before our eyes.
We almost feel like Burke's submission for Egbert's remix competition should be handicapped, but there's not going to be a single soul who says he doesn't deserve it, if he walks away a champion.
