The time has almost come. Following a two-and-a-half year process, Pretty Lights is two weeks away from dropping A Color Map of the Sun. To accompany the release, Derek Vincent Smith released a half-hour long documentary on the multi-stage making of the album. The amount of work that went into the album is simply mind-blowing. The documentary was shot by Pretty Lights Music creative director Krystle Blackburn in conjunction with VICE. We know the suspense is killing you. Until July 2nd, this documentary will more than hold you over.

Smith released this statement on his website:

The process by which A Color Map of the Sun was made is extremely unique, so I felt it was important people were able to get a glimpse into how it happened. So many people are responsible for helping me turn this massive musical project into a reality. This documentary helps display the amount of talent, vision, and soul that went into making the album.
