For more than a decade, Lorin Ashton has been defining his own twisting and turning career through EDM. His passion for the trade began even before that, when he started throwing death metal shows in a Cupertino basement. Through promoting, his understanding of the industry grew and developed, but not as quickly as his skill behind the tables. From drum 'n' bass to hip-hop and finally to the wondrous world of bass music, the giant empire that Bassnectar has created has come from a lot of blood and sweat--but not too many tears. As many sold out shows at giant arenas he performs, it's still always going to be about the fans, and making sure they have the time of their lives.

In that spirit, TheUntz.com is thrilled to celebrate the 100th episode of The Untz Podcast with such a positive force in the dance music scene. There was so much to discuss with Ashton, that we had to break the interview up into two parts, the second half of which will be out tomorrow (Dec. 1), and digs into his remixes, the big NYE blowout in Nashville, and we get serious on a political note--but not too serious, don't worry... Today's show is packed with great tracks from guests past, present, and future, including ill.Gates, Wick-it the Instigator, and a world premiere remix from Sub Swara.

This episode was sponsored by Muti Music. Specializing in cutting edge glitch-hop and experimental bass music, Muti has been at the forefront of the latest trends in EDM. Be sure to grab a copy of ill.Gates' The ill.Methodology today!
