515 AliveThe 13th annual 515 Alive Music and Arts Festival will take place August 7 and 8 in downtown Des Moines, IA. This block party-style event takes over the city to bring an intelligent and creative representation of the arts, music, and culture. It was founded to educate the public and raise awareness of the many facets of the vibrant urban community, and this year will feature more hip hop and has been expanded to two nights of music from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m.

515 Alive aims to create a platform that launches new careers, continues existing efforts, and refines artists’ skills and talents. Live art performances and shows, dance exhibitions, live graffiti demos, and break dancing competitions will also be a part of the festivities to form a vibrant and interactive environment. Art and clothing vendors will be offering unique wares, and there will be food and full bar service. The production will feature massive sound with lights and lasers.
